I LOVE DANCING!
I’ve always loved dancing. I find it fun, freeing and also … a place where I actually discover stillness through movement.
I really struggled finding stillness in formal meditation at first, and still do much of the time, but somehow every time I dance (as long as there are some good tunes) my thinking mind agrees to soften into a space of curiousity, trust, and exploration.
I surrender to my body’s ideas. And that is profound for me because I’m normally a think-aholic.
In her book, “The Serpent and the Wave”, Jalaja Boheim talks about women’s journeys with kundalini and the power of dance and movement:
“To lose oneself in the rapture of movement and enter states of trance or ecstasy is quite natural. Children do so all the time and in their play rediscover the most ancient ways of altering consciousness. Movement meditation is a conscious continuation of this journey into our bodies, into ourselves”.

“Circlework provided for me a space to reflect and feel connected to myself and other women. To be able to take that feeling—that space—with me day to day provided me with a sense of empowerment and reassurance to any challenges I may face.”
